Hello,
there have always been some graphics in Re & Apophis, that didn't match my style of graphic.
I mean those graphics, which were created by Enterbrain and which are part of the Vx Ace Rtp.

2nd demo released!

Hello reader,

after I have started working on the game more than two years ago, I can proudly announce the release of the second demo version! Since the first one was released on 1st January this year, much has changed. I want to thank everyone who has played the first one and gave some feedback.

I hope that you will give me some feedback again, because this is the last demo before the full version will be released next year.

Hello reader,
as you may already know, the second demo version of Re & Apophis will be released on 1st October 2015.
Since a while now I had the idea for a very special map and yesterday I did a little concept "art" for it. So when I stood up today, I worked on it. If you have played the first demo version of the game and have not forgotten the story, you should easily imagine what this is for.
Here you can see the three steps from concept to simple parallax to finished map with pictures, light effects and so on.

at the moment I am not able to work much on the game because of university. Anyway, here is a life sign from me. The attack of the enemy gives an advice who this woman is. Also one of her "accessoires" gives a hint. She will be encounterable in the full version, which will be released most likely next year.

Hello reader,
a new semester at university has begun and "time" is going to be an unknown word for me. Many exams will be written at the end of the semester and also I have to present three papers in the next two months. So in the next three to four months I won't be able to put much time into the project.
But since the release of the first demo version, much has been done:

-new areas (second overworld map which includes: village, field (for growings), secret temple, desert and second main temple (which is not included yet))
-new enemies (14 at all, 9 for the upcoming second demo and 5 for the full version)
-weapons and armor can be upgraded to +25
-skills can be upgraded (for example Re's "6000 Kelvin": 6000 Kelvin -> 6000 Kelvin II -> 6000 Kelvin III)

Also there are a few things I improved, for example:
-the temple of Osiris is not as dark as in the first demo anymore (opacity changed from 185 to 135)
-the equipment upgrading system is a little bit faster (I've set some labels)
-the enemies give a little bit more reward (experience and money)
-Isis has a voice now, too (Crazy_Leen)
-Re has another voice, now (Simon "Iron Croc" DLSea)
-Some smaller "cosmetic improvement"

Hellor reader,
at this point, every dialogue is included into the project. 271 picture based ones and a few skits.
Also the soundtrack is almost complete, just one track is missing. J. Stewart did an awesome job so far, soon you will understand what I mean. What has to be done? Well, there are just a few treasure chests which have to be filled, boss enemies need a few special attacks and then I just have to work on the balancing of the game.
When I am finished and only the testing has to be done, I'll let you know.

Hello reader,
most of the story relevant dialogues are included by now. There are a little bit more than 200 pictures. I guess when every relevant dialouge is included it will be approximately 250 pictures. Of course that won't be all, as you know there will be skit dialogues (optional for you to read) as well.
By the way, I have something to show you. I think it was three weeks ago when I recognized that one important graphic is missing, the game over graphic. I thought about what to use for it, should it include the playable party, the main antagonist or perhaps a combination of those possibilities? Well, I was inspired by the scene out of the judgement of the dead. Also I was inspired a lot by Septicflesh's song Anubis, which I've listened to - without exaggeration - at least 100 times. So I decided to exclude Re, Apophis and the others.
I've just included this sentence which you can see in the lower right corner, which says that the world remains shrouded in darkness. Obviously because Re doesn't rise as sun again.
Oh, by the way: the guy in the picture of course has a big problem.

Hello reader,
after grinding SSB for 3DS the last week, it is time to work on the project again.
Since almost everything is included, the dialogues have to be written. This work starts today.
Next week university starts again, so my time is limited then... even if something tells me that I sure will write a little bit in some lectures.
Anyway, I will try to include the stuff I wrote over the week at the weekends, because every dialogue will be included as pictures (speechbubbles). So in the next weeks I most likely will not update this page.
I guess that I will be done next month though. Then I only have to work on the balancing.

Hello reader,
after being totally berserk the last few days, a LOT of scripting for the R&A demo is done.
(Including the weapon/armor upgrade script which is done via conditional branches, which are easilie more than 100 (connected of course) xD). All graphics for the demo have been finished, too.

By the way: I've decided that it will be possible to level up like in most of the RPGs.
The Ba system is just for the weapons and armors, now.

Also I've thought of another very special attack (see news entry from 28th June 14 for further information) for Seth.
He is able to change his form which gives him a 50% attacking boost.
The disadvantages are that his velocity goes down to 50%, also he is only able to attack
(no use of magic, no use of items and no guard).
Anyway, this system also is included already. Like the upgrade system, this is done with conditional branches, too. The problem with Rpg Maker Vx Ace is that there are no regular party battler graphics. To circumvent this I use an extern script. But there is no "change battler graphic" order in the event database of Ace of course. So what to do? I created another playable character who changes with Seth when he uses his "Unleashing" skill. So far, so good. But now it gets ugly:
I had to make a bunch of variabels to save his level and all of his equipment to "transport" all of this to the second Seth who switches in after using the skill... anyway, it works perfectly.^^

Now I have to work over the database (items, skills, balancing etc). After that I only have to include all the dialogues (since every puzzle is included already, too) and the demo is finished.

Next time I'll show you, how Seth's unleashed form looks like, along with something for your ears.

One last thing: are you interested to be part of the game?
I want to include a few audio files in the game. I thought about to record a few sentences, the party members say when they use their special attacks. For example Re when he uses his "Supernova" skill:
"I make life possible but I am also able to eradicate it with ease. Experience my unbound power! SUPERNOVA!"

For that I search one man (for Re) and one woman (for Isis).

Hello reader,
due to some internet problems, I wasn't able to post a news entry last sunday.
Anyway, perhaps you noticed it already but the worked over game presentation is online. I also posted it on rpgmakervx.net.
You can get to the presentation by clicking on the link on the right site of this page.
What has happened in the meantime? Well, I can tell you that all maps for the upcoming demo are done. There are just very few graphics which have to be made. I am very sure that I can do that before the next semester starts on 14th October. When it does, I will write the dialogue and do some scripting besides.

Good evening, reader.
Since my last exam for this semester (and also year) was successfully written, most of this month belongs to Re & Apophis.
As you can see, I've uploaded a screenshot which shows the faces of our three heroes. In the next week I will update the game presentation. It will feature new screenshots and more information about the game.

By the way: there will be an optional dungeon, a pyramid. Did you know that there is a subterranean sea with a sarcophagus in/under the Pyramid of Cheops? Not many have seen it but... you will! Well, not really, but the pictures which I've seen of it inspired me, hehe.

Large update will be online next week.

Hello reader,
I just thought about the very special attacks of the heroes in Re & Apophis.
As you may know, there are -besides MP- also TP in Rpg Maker Vx Ace.

If you don't know about it, I will explain it:
TP (Technical Points, I think) are something like the well known MP (Magic/Mana Points).
The difference is that, while MP go down when using a magic attack, the TP rise with every
move you make (attack, use magic, defend). When the TP are up to 100, those points can be  invested in the special attack, after that, they decrease to 0.
This is a good "payment method" for very special and strong attacks.
(I changed TP to SP (Special Points) in the game.)

Anyway, I want to tell you a little bit about the special attacks that will be available.

Re: "Supernova"
[What attack could better demonstrate the incredible power of the sun?]
Effects:
-Extremely high damage against every enemy
-75% chance of an instant kill against every enemy (not successful against bosses!)
-Decreases Re's LP (Life Points) to 1

Seth: "Summon: Ammit"
Effect:
-Summons the heart eating Demon Ammit, who can be controled in battle

Isis: "Sacrifice"
Effects:
-Recovers every Ally's LP to 100%, even of those, who are knocked out
-Isis gets knocked out after using this skill

Ammit: "Devour Heart"
Effect:
-100% instant kill against one enemy (not successful against bosses!)

Below, you can see the new character, Ammit, who will only be in battle, when summoned by Seth.

as I already wrote more than two months ago, I was not very productive, thanks to my study.
Anyway, I made a little something which I would like to present you.

Hello reader,
as I promised will show you a little something I worked on in the last days. First of all I created a new titlescreen picture, number three by the way. That's how it looks like at the moment (You can click on the picture to enlarge it):
Yeah, it says that the game's full version will be released 2015 but that's not for sure. Actually it is quite easy to change the 5 to 6. And no, the hieroglyphs doesn't mean anything special, so you don't need to look them up.

Hello reader,
it has been more than a month now, since my last news. Unfortunately there hasn't been much progress in the game. My studying costs much time and of course I don't put every free minute into my project. But I can show you a screenshot which shows the battlesystem. The constelation of the enemies won't occur like that in the game itself, it just shall show you, which types of "normal" enemies you have to expect (of course there will be many more!).

seit dem letzten Newseintrag ist über ein Monat vergangen. Leider gab es kaum Fortschritt seitdem. Mein Studium ist sehr zeitintensiv und natürlich stecke ich nicht jede freie Minute in das Projekt. Aber ich kann euch einen Screenshot zeigen, welcher das Kampfsystem zeigt. Die gezeigte Konstellation der Gegner wird so jedoch nicht im Spiel vorkommen, es soll nur zeigen, welche "normalen" Gegner zu erwarten sind (natürlich wird es viel mehr geben!).

Hallo Leser,
wie dir sicherlich aufgefallen ist, hat sich diese Rubrik etwas geändert. Da es die "News-Funktion" etwas umständlich gestaltet, Bilder und Links direkt anzuzeigen, habe ich mich dazu entschlossen es nun auf diese Weise zu tun. Ich habe auch schon direkt eine erste, möglicherweise interessante Infos für dich. Nächstes Jahr wird ein Projekt erscheinen (mindestens in Form einer Demo), welches sich nahtlos in den Großteil meiner bisherigen Veröffentlichungen einfügen wird. Den dazugehörigen Banner lasse ich fürs Erste kommentarlos stehen.
